At the Eucharist this morning the celebrant, Fr. Jose Magadia, SJ highlighted two points. First, the call to listen – to listen to God speaking in the depths of our hearts in our personal prayer and in our listening to each other with respect and openness. The second is the call of God to radical dependence – to trust in His love and grace. It is an invitation to be open to new experiences and new ideas. It is an invitation to chart out new paths for the Congregation. It is also a call to do all this in profound peace trusting that God will guide us beyond our preparations, expectations, and imaginations.

As we are in the process of listening to the ‘Calls from God’, this morning we took a quick glance at the purpose and scope of the General Chapter and revisited the discussions and orientations we had so far. The assembly was divided into four commissions to look into the main areas of concern that we need to focus on in order to become ‘Women of the Word, loving without measure’. The evening found us in an interactive session wherein all the commissions shared their perceptions, insights, and views with the whole assembly.
