(Andheri) – On 4 and 5 July 2026, Andheri hosted the provincial JPIC (Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation) meeting, bringing together the JPIC animators from the different communities of the Province of St Francis Xavier, India Centre. The meeting began with a prayer led by Sr Shalini D’Souza, followed by a welcome address from Sr Gracy Rodrigues.
The first session, led by our Provincial Superior, Sr Audrey D’Souza, on the theme ‘New wine in new wineskins: the courage to discern, the courage to serve’, inspired and challenged the Sisters to embrace a renewed mindset, discern the signs of the times and respond courageously to the needs of today’s world.
Ms Sumedha from RUR led a practical session on composting organic waste, while Sr Meena Godad presented the Canossian JPIC guidelines. The sharing of community initiatives enriched the meeting.
During the second day, the Sisters engaged in spiritual conversations that led to the preparation of their own JPIC action plans for 2026–2027, which they then shared in assembly.
The meeting concluded with an evaluation and final words of thanks, together with the hope of meeting again.
