From 12 to 14 June 2026, the Assembly of the Mãe da Misericórdia Delegation of São Tomé and Príncipe took place, under the theme “Together to proclaim and promote life” and with the motto “New wine in new wineskins”.
The meeting opened with the Eucharist, celebrated by Father Admário João, Franciscan delegate and president of the Conference of Religious of São Tomé and Príncipe, on the feast day of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
On the occasion of the celebration of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the participants wished to offer their hearts so that peace, sincerity, and humility in Christ may reign. The new wine evokes the fullness of grace and invites us to allow ourselves to be transformed in order to take on a new form of communal life.
