A true passing of the Lord and of St. Magdalene through the red soil.

From June 3rd to 5th, the Canossian Mothers’ community of Giardino América had the grace of welcoming the General Visitor, Mother Josemary Keelath. With her serene, humble, and joyful presence, Mother Josemary shared the life and mission of the Sisters with the local religious community and many of the city’s inhabitants, bearing witness to the beauty of the Canossian vocation in this beloved land.

Her visit had a significant impact on the city, creating a special atmosphere among the people and institutions connected to the Canossian family, including civil authorities. The community expressed great joy, gratitude, and appreciation for the presence and charitable works that the Canossian Mothers have been carrying out here for 53 years.

On Tuesday, June 3rd, in both the morning and afternoon, Mother Josemary visited the educational ministry Istituto Canossiano Nostra Signora della Salute, where she was warmly welcomed by students and teachers, all happy to meet her in person and express their affection and gratitude.

That same afternoon, she visited the elderly at San Giuseppe Retirement Home, another important apostolate of the Canossian Mothers in the city. Present at the gathering were also friends and collaborators of the home, as well as the city’s mayor, who presented the Visiting Mother with a dossier containing all the official recognitions the municipality has granted the Sisters over the years for their dedicated service to the community.

Later, during the parish Mass, she had the opportunity to greet the parish priest and the Ukrainian Sisters—the other religious congregation present in the city.

Wednesday, June 4th was dedicated to the Canossian Family. In the afternoon, Mother Josemary shared a moment of prayer and fraternity with the group of Canossian lay members.

On Thursday, June 6th, the community experienced a moving and deeply grateful moment with the inauguration of the recreational space Piazza Madre Maria Alghisi, in honor of a Canossian Sister who left a profound legacy of charity and service in the city. Once again, the mayor was present and, at the end of the ceremony, offered a special gift to the General Visitor.

The community gives heartfelt thanks to the Lord for all that was lived and shared during these joyful days, which allowed everyone to experience, in unity, the Charism of the Greatest Love.
