(Dili-Becora, Provincialate Headquarters) – On 13 and 14 July 2026, a formation meeting on the charism was held in Becora, led by Father Natalino Gusmão Amaral, a diocesan priest, during which some central themes of the Canossian charism and the theology of charity were explored.
During the formation, certain key elements of the Canossian charism were examined. First, the contemplation of Jesus Crucified was recalled as the heart of the canossian vocation, together with the idea of a creative charity, capable of always seeking new paths for the salvation of the world. The identity of the Canossian woman was then highlighted: a woman at the foot of the Cross, a woman of charity, educator and missionary, called to transform people’s lives through the proclamation of the Gospel and service.
Another theme developed was the theological dimension of service to the poor, understood as an act of faith and adoration, with particular attention to the centrality of the most vulnerable in the mission. Finally, some Gospel attitudes to be lived out in daily life were proposed: looking, touching and liberating, along with an invitation to cultivate intimacy with Jesus Christ, to bear witness to the joy of his love and to guard faithfully the gift of vocation.
The meeting concluded with thanks to Father João, FdCC, and to Father Natalino Gusmão, for their willingness to strengthen Canossian faith, hope and charity.
