San Pablo — On 26 September, the Canossian Sisters took part in the fifth SFC CALABARZON Catholic Conference, held at the San Pablo Convention Center in San Pablo City, the Philippines. The Sisters participated in the event through the Vocations Expo, alongside other groups involved in vocation ministry.
The conference was centred on the biblical passage from the Letter to the Ephesians: “There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all” (Eph. 4:4–6).[biblegateway]
The message of the gathering reminded participants that walking together as one Church means recognising that we belong to one body, guided by one Lord and gathered around one Father. The conference therefore invited them to rediscover the shared identity of believers as God’s beloved children, called to love one another, build relationships and walk together in faith.
During the Vocations Expo, the Canossian Sisters welcomed young people at their stand and offered a range of activities, including collecting prayer intentions, making bracelets bearing the participants’ names and creating the Dolor Rosary.
These activities gave the young people an opportunity to pray, share their experience of faith and learn more about Canossian spirituality. Through these encounters, the Sisters also sought to foster a deeper devotion to Mary, Our Lady of Sorrows, whom Saint Magdalene of Canossa recognised as the true Foundress of the Institute.
Each bead, each name and each prayer intention became a reminder that every person has been wonderfully created by God, called to love and to build relationships of communion.
Through their participation in the conference and the activities offered at the vocation stand, the Canossian Sisters encouraged the young people to continue walking together in faith, hope and love, as one family in Christ.
One body, one Lord, one Father, one family in Christ.
