God’s heart doesn’t work like a calculator. His heart is goodness and generosity. The denarius symbolizes the Kingdom, and the Kingdom is for everyone, no matter when we say yes to his invitation.
“Why are you upset that I am good?” This question from the landowner is also a question we must ask ourselves when our hearts begin to make “calculations”.
Let us ask for the grace to work freely for the Kingdom, to do everything out of love, and to rejoice when a brother receives the same mercy that we receive, because in the end, we all arrive last and we all receive far more than we “deserve”.
