(Malawi) – From 22 to 30 April, the General Council, during its canonical visit to the Malawi Delegation, experienced a time of grace, prayer, and fraternity.

“How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good things, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns’”.  (Is 52:7)

The Canonical Visit of the General Council to the Malawi Delegation, our Lady of Hope, opened on the notes of the prophet Isaiah words, and now that as historical event it is concluded, we come to sing again with gratitude: “How beautiful on the mountains  are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace,  who bring good things,  who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns’.” (Is 52:7)

Indeed, as this Canonical Visit concludes, we give thanks to God for the gift of this time of grace.

We thank Mother General and the General Council for planning this fraternal moment for us, and in a very special way we thank Sr Josemary Keelath, Sr Melissa Dwyer and Sr Albertina Louis Dos Santos for giving their time to our communities and our ministries.

It has been a gift to have them sharing our moments of prayers and interaction, our joys and tears, our challenges and demanding moments, and to have them strengthening us and   reminding us to live our Charism with enthusiasm and dedication, renewing the fire of the original call in our hearts, with the passion and “the more” of Magdalene in loving God and our sisters and brothers.

We appreciated their “sisterly” staying among us in our communities, and relish with gratitude the beautiful gathering we had with them as Delegation for the formative session they offered us on the letter of Mother Foundress to Faccioli and to us all, and their presentation of the overview of the Institute today, which opened our eyes to the reality of our Institute and made us feel even more deeply our belonging to our religious family.

May the seeds planted in dialogue, prayer, and discernment bear fruit in our lives.

This moment has left us renewed, more rooted in our vocation, and committed to living our charism with joy and fidelity.

Lord, we pray, may our hearts remain open to Your ongoing work in us, guiding us to serve the Church with love and humility, as we carry the fruits of this visit into our daily lives, striving for unity, peace, and holiness.
