(El Nido, Palawan) – From April 2 to May 10, 11 volunteers took part in the Meaningful Summer mission in El Nido, Palawan, in the communities of Centro (St. Magdalene Mission Station), Brgy. Bebeladan, Sitio Langib Langiban and Brgy. Cataban.
The mission takes place in a setting marked by poverty, rural life, and everyday challenges. In this place, young people journey with children, families, parish members, and the wider community, accompanying daily life, supporting education, and sharing moments of encounter and service.
During these days, the volunteers have carried out various activities such as games, catechesis, homework support, workshops, visits, community animation, and even simple acts of care like cleaning, offering their enthusiasm and creativity in service to the community. The experience has been marked by encounters, joy, fraternity, listening, and closeness, where every simple gesture has helped make the love of Christ visible among children, families, and parish members.
As they express in their testimony, “With every smile and every shared moment, the mission grows and deepens.”
This mission continues to be a concrete sign of service, communion, and hope, where the volunteers learn that even a simple presence can leave a lasting mark.
