Encarnación (Paraguay) – The Regional Novitiate of the Americas of the Daughters of Charity, Canossian Sisters was the setting for an intense period of prayer, formation and fraternal life, shared by the pre-novices Sara (Mexico), Ana Clara (Brazil), Milagros (Argentina), and the novice María Luz (Argentina), who is approaching her profession of vows.
Accompanied by Sister Manoela, Provincial Superior of Brazil, together with the Novitiate community, the young women were able to experience a time of communion that transcended geographical boundaries, linguistic differences, and cultural and generational diversity. This shared journey revealed the beauty of a vocation that speaks the universal language of the Gospel.
Formation and Prayer in the Light of the CLAR Horizon
The days were shaped by reflection on the theme proposed by the Latin American Confederation of Religious (CLAR), expressed in the evocative spiritual image “Nacer de nuevo” – “Being born anew.”
This journey led the young women to contemplate the nocturnal encounter between Jesus and Nicodemus: a dialogue that continues to invite believers today to allow themselves to be born again of the Spirit, so as to preserve a gaze that is clear, receptive and attentive to the light of Christ.
The Canossian Charism: A Fragrance That Permeates the Mission
The charism of Saint Magdalene of Canossa permeated every moment as a guiding and unifying presence, illuminating also some of the most significant events within the Canossian family in Paraguay:
- the perpetual profession of Virginia, a Secular Missionary of Saint Magdalene of Canossa;
- service to the poor in the Barrio Sagrada Familia;
- fraternal life shared in simplicity, joy and the ordinariness of daily living that quietly shapes the heart.
Gratitude and Hope for the Fruits of the Mission
The days spent in Encarnación have already borne fruits of communion, vocational maturity and renewed missionary commitment. With gratitude, we raise our thanksgiving to God for all that has been given and for all that will continue to take root and flourish, as a gift for our Provinces, for the Region of the Americas, and for the entire Institute.
