(Darwin) – On 1st July 2026, the Canossian Sisters of the Australian Delegation officially began the Fraternal Canonical Visit of the General Council in Darwin. The opening Eucharistic Celebration brought together the General Councillors, the Delegation leadership team, the local community, Bishop Charles Gauci and Fr John Kelliher, MSC, at St Paul’s Catholic Church, in an atmosphere of prayer, communion and fraternal welcome.
This marks the beginning of a special time of grace, a precious opportunity to recognise and value the gift of each Sister in the Canossian family, and to listen with docility to the Holy Spirit, who continues to guide the communities, fraternal relationships and apostolic service.
This Canonical Visit is an opportunity for spiritual renewal, discernment and growth in communion, strengthening the desire to live with ever greater fidelity to the charism of Saint Magdalene of Canossa.
With grateful hearts, thanks are given to the Lord for his faithful love and for the gift of the Canossian vocation, entrusting this time of encounter, listening and sharing to his guidance, so that it may bear fruits of hope, unity and renewed missionary zeal.
