Female Empowerment

Summary of the initiative

Sr. Thankam John and her collaborators have started a series of social and economic promotion activities with 440 women who make up the 44 Self-help Groups spread across 5 rural areas of Payakaraopeta, in the Visakhapatnam District in Andhra Pradesh (India): periodic formation meetings to develop greater awareness of their role, raise awareness on health issues and disease prevention, support the start-up of small entrepreneurial experiences through microcredit.

We want to continue to support their commitment by guaranteeing them the necessary formative tools, small expenses for food and fuel for travel, funds for microcredit activities.
