A project supporting the children of Encarnación (Paraguay)

 

The Canossian Sisters have served on the outskirts of Encarnación since the early 2000s.
They are especially committed to promoting health and education for the children of Barrio Sagrada Familia, a marginalised neighbourhood marked by poor sanitation, high unemployment, limited schooling, social exclusion and crime.

EDUCATION

Educational Centre “Saint Magdalene of Canossa”

 

Founded in 2004, the Saint Magdalene of Canossa Educational Centre provides a comprehensive early-years education for children aged three to five who would otherwise have no opportunity to attend school.

Located in Barrio Fátima, the Centre offers a transport service supported by the Canossian community, ensuring pupils can travel safely to and from class.

In addition to learning, the Centre guarantees that every child receives adequate daily nutrition. 

HEALTHCARE

Healthcare Centre “Sagrada Familia”

 

In 2006, the Sagrada Familia Healthcare Centre was inaugurated within Barrio Sagrada Familia to provide families with comprehensive, free primary care. Services include Nursing, Nutrition, Dentistry, General Medicine, Psychology and Physiotherapy (kinesiology).
