We wish to share this “inter-congregational” experience which has been realized thanks to the solicitude by which some members of the UISG (International Union of Superiors General) have responded to the request advanced by M. General, M. Annamaria Babbini.
The request was presenting the need to share some questions and preoccupations linked to the postponement of the General Chapter in order to face together the outcome of the situation created by the Covit-19 pandemic, which has involved, and still is involving, many congregations.
So, on 28th April, at 11.00 a.m., there took place an enriching conversation among some General Superiors and Councilors from over the world and members of the UISG (71 religious) reflecting on the difficulties and procedures regarding the postponement of General Chapters.
In these cases, the UISG says, the Superiors bear the responsibility of making decisions and of confronting themselves with other General Councils which have the same questions: this helps sustaining eventual choices and orientations for the future.
While grateful for this initiative, we pose here the same question the UISG itself is asking and which remains open also for us:
