Message of Mother General to the citizens of Schio

Message of Mother General to the citizens of Schio

On April 12, the Canossian Sisters, the Parish Priest of St. Peter Parish, the Mayor of the city of Schio gather, in the name of the entire population of Schio, for a prayer of intercession to St. Bakhita who, in the past, had already protected the city.

An intense listening to the Word of God presenting the hope offered by Lazarus’ return to life and the approaching of Easter. The supplications raised by Mother Mariuccia Donghi (superior of the community) and by Fr. Mariano Ronconi (Parish Priest of the cathedral) imploring that the citizens of Schio may soon return to “see the countryside, the sky, the water, and breath free air” as it has been for Bakhita who, after many sufferings, was able to see again the light. Recalling the memory of this Daughter of Charity as “honorary citizen” by the Mayor of the city, represented the core of this intense moment of prayer.
Mother Annamaria Babbini, Superior General, sent a message of closeness and an Easter wish:

“Dear all,
today, Holy Saturday is a particularly significant day. It is the day of waiting; with Mary we are confident of being able to embrace the Risen Jesus. Today, all the Canossians of the world commemorate the seven sorrows of our common Sorrowful Mother.
You have chosen a very significant day for this beautiful initiative which I consider as inspired. I too will be united with you at noon for Bakhita to intercede for the people of Schio who have always been loved and been protected, but I also asked her that your supplication and entrustment become a universal prayer which, starting from the city of Schio, extends to all the cities of the world and to all humanity that suffers.

Bakhita has always been a docile Daughter of the Church, a “Universal Sister”.
she will listen to us and will obtain the grace from her “Paròn”.

My Easter greetings and thanks to all of you.
