Today, March 1st, 2019, the Canossian community in Singapore celebrated the birthday of the Congregation’s Founder Magdalene of Canossa together with the young students and teachers of the Canossian schools in the city-state.
St. Anthony’s Canossian Primary School celebrated Canossian Saints Day & 140th anniversary of our school which was first started by Portuguese missionary priests as a Parish school St. Anna’s in 1879.
Canossian Sisters were invited to take over the school in 111 Middle Rd when they arrived from Macau in 1894 (125 years ago).
The students presented the arrival of our Canossian Sisters in 1894 together with the celebration of our nation. This year Singapore celebrates bi-centennial of its founding by Sir Stamford Raffles in 1819.
Together with songs in English & Chinese sung by all the students of the 6 levels Primary 1 to Primary 6. Title: Love Lives On.
