General council joyfully welcome in Congo

The canonical visitation of the general council of the Canossian Institute to the communities of the Democratic Republic of Congo goes on.

During this week, the mothers composing the Institute’s general council have been visiting the different Canossian communities in the country. Everywhere they are welcomed with joy by the sisters, pupils and children and their families, in moments that often turn into great feasts for the whole village.

In the days of the canonical visitation, general council’s mothers have been visiting the Canossian communities in Kinshasa, Aru, Ariwara, Bunia, Watsa. These are places where the sisters testimony the message of the Gospel by promoting an integral human development, in particular taking care of those who are in need or suffer.

Such as in Ariwara, in the North-East of the country, where the Canossian sisters manage the “S. Josephine Bakhita” hospital, and in Aru, close to the Ugandan border, where they created an educational center with a kindergarten, a primary school, and a high school.

The days of the canonical visitation were days filled with prayer, moments of sharing, and discernment on the next steps for the “St. Jospehine Bakhita” province.
