“For many are called, but few are chosen” (Mt 22: 14)

A wedding is an occasion for joy. In the parable, however, Jesus describes a disconcerting situation: the invited guests refuse to come.
The invitation to the banquet of the Kingdom is extended to everyone. Yet we are called to take part in it wearing the proper garment, that is, with a readiness for ongoing conversion of heart, reflected in our daily lives.
