Jesus takes up the image of the vineyard already used by Isaiah, but introduces something new: the reproach is no longer aimed only at the people for the bitter fruit they produce, but also at the tenants to whom the vineyard had been entrusted.
This parable confronts us with the reality of selfishness, which turns service into domination: in the Church, in pastoral work, in the family, and in the desire to control the lives and choices of those around us.
I invite you to make an examination of conscience, allowing yourself to be enlightened by the Holy Spirit, so that the Lord may reveal the truth of your service.
