“Hello, my name is Stanislas. I am 12 years old and I live in the Agoè Sogbossito neighborhood of Lomé, Togo. I am currently in CM1 (equivalent to 5th grade) at the Public Primary School of Sogbossito, and I am doing my best for my family.

This is my story.

I live with my mother, father, and five siblings. I am the youngest. Life at home is very difficult. My mother is ill and suffers from epilepsy, which prevents her from working. My father is unemployed and struggles with alcoholism. Because of this, it is extremely hard for our family to make ends meet, and our financial situation is very fragile.

My mother’s illness has also affected one of my sisters, who had to leave school despite several attempts to continue. For our family, it is simply not possible to provide proper care for both of them.

Given these challenges, I am deeply committed to my education. My greatest hope is to one day improve the lives of my loved ones and help my family overcome these hardships.

However, despite always doing well in school, my grades have declined in recent years. This is mainly due to the lack of financial resources, which makes it difficult for me to obtain the materials I need for my studies. Last year, I had to repeat CM1. I enjoy sports, although I am not always able to practice, and I get along well with my classmates.

Even though I have faced difficulties, I refuse to give up. Thanks to the support and encouragement of the Canossian Sisters, who believe in me and in my potential, I am continuing my studies with determination. I am confident that I will achieve my goals.

If you would like to support children like me—helping us grow strong, feel valued, and become a source of hope for our families—you can make a real difference with even a small gesture.

Please support Fondazione Canossiana VOICA – ETS and the mission of the Canossian Sisters in Lomé.

Thank you—from me and from all the children who, like me, are still hoping for a helping hand”.
