To be a Messenger of Hope
On 12th April 2025, a group of young adults from various parts of Italy gathered for the third formative encounter in preparation for their short-term mission experience in August with Fondazione Canossiane VOICA. During the summer holidays, one group of volunteers will travel to Malawi, East Africa, whilst another group will venture to Brazil. The call to be pilgrims of hope has been a focus of their formative journey this year, coinciding with the theme of the Jubilee. During the recent day of formation, the youth gathered at the Canossian community of Vimercate, the home many elderly Canossian missionary sisters.
The Canossian International Volunteer program (VOICA) is aimed at young people between 18 and 35, promoting experiences in countries where Canossian communities are present. Volunteering with the Canossian Sisters is a powerful opportunity to not only make a tangible difference in the lives of those less fortunate, but also to be transformed in one’s own life through the experience of encountering others.
